There, you will also find out which vehicles scored highest in crash safety testing. This will help you when purchasing a new car because it will tell you which automobiles both keep your insurance rates down and your family safe.

Check for Coverage if Renting or Borrowing a Car

Did you know that you have coverage if you rent an automobile? You—and any relatives living with you—are covered by your own car insurance for any car that you do not own.

But, did you know that if two unrelated people live together and drive each other’s vehicles, there could be coverage gaps? If you have an automobile policy, live with a friend, and share ownership of the two vehicles on the policy, the non-owned auto coverage is extended only to the first person named on the policy.

But, you can fill the coverage gap! If you are insured with Auto-Owners, we can add an endorsement to your auto policy that offers coverage to your friend. The charge is 5% of certain portions of the premium on your friend’s car.
